It is hard for me to believe that it has actually been 10 days since the last time I wrote in the blog. This time last year, it felt like the only positive thing I had going for me was this blog. I spent all my time either thinking about it, thinking about what to write in it, thinking about who was reading it, or writing in it. My blog represented my whole world.
Do not get me wrong, I still love my blog. I still enjoy thinking about what to write in it, thinking about who is reading it, and I still enjoy writing it. However, my life is so drastically different than it used to be that it has become difficult to update it daily like I used to. In the beginning, as my life got busier and busier, I felt a little guilty for not updating it daily. I felt as if I was letting people down. Recently, I realized that just because I cannot update it daily does not mean I am letting anyone down. It is just that I have had to reprioritize the place that the blog holds in my life.
I love my little blog. I really believe that it has helped me, as well as the people I have met through it, get mentally healthier than I have been in my whole life. I am thankful for all of YOU who take the time to read it, comment, or give your financial support.
Actually, hun, I think it`s a GOOD thing that you caren`t updating daily because it means that, as you said, it WAS your whole world and now it`s not, that`s got to be good! The healthier you become, the less you will focus on illness and the more you will focus on good health and a happy life, and THAT is where I want to see you, even if it mean that you never feel the need to update again 🙂
Karen,
There is a great deal of wisdom in what you said. I really enjoy writing, and I really enjoy writing in my blog. My hope is to continue blogging and find a way to keep shifting the focus toward living a positive life.
**hugs!**
I’m at the stage of blogging which you were last year. I do not write daily though. I have promised myself to post one new piece per week (Monday, 18:00 UK). I do following a number of blogs and read most posts when I can, especially those who are more in relation to what I write. However, I can honestly say I don’t read everyones post daily and in some cases, after the first few sentences if I’m not connected I move on! That has not yet been the case when I visit Sugar Filled Emotions. Don’t forget about us [readers] 🙂

Awww thanks!
Once a week is a really good goal.
Sometimes I will write several posts in one day, and then I schedule them to go out on various days.
Other times I use a little voice recorder to dictate blog posts or blog ideas so I do not forget them.
