I am very frustrated with my twenty year old son right now. He is living in California and is in the Marines. It is like he has no respect for me or his family here, and behaves towards us and speaks to us in a very disrespectful manner. Today I had to write him a very difficult letter and let him know that I was taking a break from him and me communicating due to his disrespectful treatment of his family.
Wow, sorry to hear that! Hopefully the letter will smack sense into him and turn things around for you.
I doubt it will, but it was time I set up a few boundaries with him. I love him, and the things that have gone with him have been a source of great sorrow for me. However, there just comes a time, even with your children where you have to make difficult decisions and just have faith that things will turn out OK in the end.

Even though my boys are still toddlers, I fear when they become adolescents.
