My list for today is 13 things that people might not know about me.
1. When I was a kid, I had freckles. It seemed to me that I had a million of them.

2. I read in the bathroom.
3. I have a strange obsession for pajamas and socks.
4. My current hair color came from a box.

5. When I was first living on my own, the only thing I knew how to cook was hamburger helper.
6. I am extremely clumsy. I can trip and fall down even when I am standing in one place.
7. I like to watch Wife Swap
8. I am afraid of spiders.
9. When I was a kid I wanted to be an anthropologist when I grew up. (what normal child wants to be anthropologist when they grow up?)
10. When I was a kid I used to like to read Reader’s Digest (would a normal child do that?)
11. I snore.
12. The strangest thing I have ever eaten is a bowl full of baby eels. They sort of looked like a bowl full of spaghetti noodles.
13. Once when I was scuba diving, I encountered a mother manatee and her baby and I got to touch them.

One thing I’ve learned, we’re all more alike than different. I related strongly to three on your list: snoring – I’ve snored so loud that I’ve woken myself; Reader’s Digest – I read lots of those as a kid. I didn’t want to be an anthropologist, but I’d have chosen to be a professional geek, if the word had been invented. And don’t worry about clumsiness, I know someone who broke their knee by sitting down on their sofa. Seriously.
You mean not ALL of us reads in the bathroom. Here all this time I thought it was a ‘given’.
LOL Great idea for a list this week.
Here’s my 13 for fun this week. Come over and laugh a time or two. I always enjoy the company– Have a great day!!

I read Reader’s Digest as a child and still do. I think I have been reading it for about 40 years. I also used to read the Reader’s Digest condensed books, which my parents purchased. They were great.
I’m a clutz, too. Some days it seems like I do well to stand up!
Great TT.

I’m so addicted to that stupid Wife Swap. It reassures me that I’m doing a good job..
Enjoy your day!

LOL grandma! Three things? That is a pretty good amount for wha we have in common.

Hootin Anni,
It was a fun list to do. Here is a funny. My husband knows I read in the bathroom, yet after 14 years of marriage I still hide the books so he does not have absolute proof that I do.

Harriet,
Lifetime has the reruns of it on from noon to 3 pm. Wife swap is reassuring. Especially when I watch episodes like the whole family who is going to clown school and lives in a garage. Or the on where the mom eats dirt and talks to plants.

We have 2, 5, 8 and 11 in common. Baby eels? Eww! You touched a mother and baby Manatee, that is awesome.

I went on vacation with my family when I was younger, and we went scuba diving to a place called ‘Seal Island’….
The scuba leaders told us that if we see a baby seal, do not approach it, and do not try to touch it. He said that inevitably there’s going to be a mother or father seal nearby and they may misinterpret your actions as an attempt to hurt their child, and they may attack you…. It was an amazing experience, but I spent the whole time making sure that no baby seals came near me!

Number six sounds like me. I had a HUGE bruise on my left calf last month with no idea how it got there. You’d think you’d remember how you got one that big, but no. Thanks for visiting!

I do your 2 & 3 as well. and yes, I do read Reader’s Digest when I was a kid, I know normal kids don’t do such thing, only the smart one, *wink*

Jerry,
yes baby eels. I used to like to eat them when I lived in Spain. When the waiter brought them he would tell us to only eat them with the wooden spoon as the metal spoon would change how they tasted. Being the non-compliant child I was, I had to try them with the metal fork. He was right. They tasted much better with the wooden fork.
The manatees were great. Every year the Manatees go to a place in Florida called Crystal River. There are sections blocked off that people are not allowed to enter. However, this mother and baby left that area so I was able to get very close to them. The bad thing was I neglected to tell my dive partner where I was going. My dive partner happened to be my father. So he was a little nervous when I was not where I was supposed to be.

ASBLACKASOBAMA,
I would definitely be doing the same thing if I had heard what you did about the seals.

I can hardly remember where I get most of my bruises and little injuries. I am glad I am not the only one.

Alice,
My daughter is a fair skinned red head, I have a feeling she is not going to lose her freckles the way we did.

I can practically see you in your PJ’s reading. Cool about the manatee.
Doesn’t EVERYONE read in the bathroom?
Great list. I too like to watch Wife Swap–but only when my husband isn’t home so he doesn’t make fun of me.
.-= Journeywoman´s last blog ..Thirteen Favorite books by my favorite authors =-.
I don’t know if I could eat eels. And my hair color comes from the salon; I’d wind up blonde or something. I’d look REALLY bad like that.
